Is the sims 3 worth 30 quid?

I mean, i used to play it as a kid, and pretty much had fun with it. I mostly play xbox now. Will it still have the novelties and fun, and replayability?

The game has come a LONG way since Sims one days IT also is really a lot different than Sims 2.
I have played all three and have been playing since Sims 1 was out and i like it myself
They have made it so that you have a lot to do and you work to earn different stuff and get different clues etc. I think it is worth it myself but that is my opinion My kids play a lot of XBox and WOW and they both played it for a bit and said it was ok they are more into the shooting type games though
